Walking Home Together Yesterday evening，John and I went to the levee（堤壩） where I am relearning how to run due to illness.Ahead of us was a very tall man with a plastic bag who seemed to be unable to walk a straight line.John said，"You keep running，and I will check on him." I tried to continue on but then turned around only to find that the man had fallen and was lying on his back with John at his side.
John was holding his hand and tried to help him up.The man said thank you that he was fine but he was going to stay down for a bit.John told the man，"We are going to come back this way，if you are still here，we will check on you."
We ran on for 10-15 minutes or so and turned around.Many people had passed us.I told John that the man would not be there because for sure someone else could help him also.John ran ahead to see if he was still there.When I got to the spot，John was leaving and told me，"He said he is fine.Let's go on."
The man in the meantime tried to climb up the levee and fell again and as he sat there，I walked down.I said，"Hi，my name is Mia.What's your name？" He laughed and looked at me.I said light-heartedly，"I am relearning how to run.I didn't realize it was so difficult." He said，"Oh，so did my son and I--it's not always easy.""How old is your son？" I asked. "Huh，" he laughed. "Well，he's 19 but he had got a kind of rare leg disease." There was a pain in his eyes.I told him my own experience and encouraged him.It was getting dark.John made a gesture of it is time to go.
