2.I'm racing on the 1,500-metre track (跑道) with my friend,Mary.I'm tired and my throat is giving me much pain.I want to stop but a voice repeating in my head keeps me running: "No one knows what the result will be.Everything is still possible." Today,I have to fight with myself.
Nine years ago, when I was a 6-year-old girl,my mother took me on a trip.We went to the foot of a high mountain which she told me that we would climb.I had never done this before and the thought of it made me very happy.
At the beginning,I climbed fast. But half an hour later, when I was thirsty and tired,I just stopped and sat upon the ground ,completely silent. My mom came and sat next to me.
She said, "Get up and go on!"
Almost shouting, and with tears in my eyes,I replied, "No,I don't want to do this. It's too tiring and I am thirsty.I don't like it.I want to go back home now."
Patiently she explained, "Listen,my dear.If you try your best, anything is possible. If you don't try, your dreams will never come true. However hard the task is,we must finish it.You will never know how beautiful the scenery looks unless you reach the top of the mountain."
Hearing her words,I stopped crying and started to climb again. Finally I made it;I did reach the top of the mountain and enjoyed the glorious view.
Today I'm on the racing track.I'm going to keep running because I know its always worthwhile (值得做的) to finish.
And in the end I managed it;I got through the finish line.Although it was really difficult and I did not win,I did make it.As former Indian President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam (1931-2015)said, "Never stop fighting until you arrive at your destined (命定的) place - that is,the unique you."

3.About 12 million tons of plastic wastes are entering the oceans every year. This garbage pollutes the water, kills wildlife and breaks down into small pieces that fish and other creatures eat.
Now a group of Spanish fishermen will receive economic support to catch plastics. It is part of a new project.Carlos Martin is one of the fishermen taking part in the project. He and his partners collect the plastic in the ocean and bring it back to land every week.Martin thinks rivers carry a lot of plastics to the sea.He says his most concern is no more than that the plastics often get caught in the nets, which makes nets not work properly. They take on mud(泥),causing the nets to break because they weigh so much.
Under the new programs, one million pounds will support ocean cleanup efforts for fishermen like Martin. The money is coming from the European Union and the Catalan government.Sergi Tudela, the General Director of Catalonia Fisheries,is responsible for the cleanup project. He said, "We are hopeful that if we are successful in this project,we can apply it to other areas in the Mediterranean(地中海)."
Government reports show that the amount of plastic wastes washing up along the Spanish coastline has grown by 65 percent in just six years.Fishing equipment makes up a large part of the about 8 to 12 million tons of plastics left in the world's oceans every year.
Martin says the fishing community now understands how big the problem is.He says,"In the past we didn't see it that way.We took the plastic garbage and threw it back into the water.I think that after a few year here we have realized the problem.Nothing is thrown into the water;we collect everything and bring it to shore."
(1)What worries Martin most about plastic wastes at the beginning?
A.They pollute the sea environment.
B.They affect the quality and taste of fish.
C.They prevent the fishing nets from working well.
D.They kill wildlife and reduce his fishing amount.
(2)What does Sergi Tudela probably consider doing?
A.Getting more money to support the project.
B.Getting help from other European countries.
C.Spreading the cleanup project to more places.
D.Praising the European Union for their helping to the oceans.
(3)What do Martin's words in the last paragraph imply(暗示)about the fishing community?
A.Its members do a lot of work for free.
B.It has stopped using plastic fishing equipment.
C.It has made positive changes to fight plastic wastes.
D.Its members find people sill throw the garbage carelessly.
(4)What would be the best title for the text?
A.New programs are changing fishermen's life
B.Money is given to Spanish fishermen to clean up oceans
C.Traditional fishing equipment causes a lot of plastic wastes
D.Spanish fishermen are encouraging people to clean up oceans組卷:4引用:2難度:0.5

If there's one thing I can't stand people saying,it's,"I'm not good at anything.I don't have any talent. " I just don't buy that at all.To me,everyone has at least one talent, and while it sometimes takes you a lifetime to find,it does exist. There was a time when I didn't believe that. What changed my mind was a seemingly small event that took place in 1953.
At that time I was a high school student.I was a funny-looking skinny boy named Eugene Orowitz, who weighed barely 100 pounds.I was a good student, but as far as I was concerned,in just about every other aspect I was a loser.I wanted to fit in,to be someone and do something well. But I hadn't found anything I was good at.One sunny afternoon, our gym class went out to the school's running track. The teacher taught us all various track and field events.I was a loser in all of them. Then came the javelin(標(biāo)槍).Suddenly something inside me began saying, "Try it!Try it!" I had to wait for my turn, though, trying not to look too eager. Finally, when everyone had had a chance to throw…the best throw going about 30 yards …I looked at the teacher.
"Hey,Orowitz, you want to try?" he asked.
Embarrassed,I looked down, but managed to nod my head.
"Well, come on then," he said impatiently, and handed me the javelin.Behind me I could hear some of my classmates laughing. As I grasped the javelin in my hand,I was seized with a strange feeling -- a new- found excitement. For some crazy reason,I was relaxed over what I was about to do,even though I'd never done it before.I raised the javelin over my head, took six quick steps and let the thing go.The same voice that had urged me to throw it,now told me it was a good throw.
