12． A hydropower station employee named Gan Yu，who had been missing after a magnitude-6.8 earthquake on September 5 in Sichuan province，had been found alive on September 21 Wednesday.
Two days ago，Ni Taigao returned to the village to feed his sheep and saw rescue workers who were looking for Gan pass his damaged house.As he was familiar with the mountain，he decided to live in a relative's home in the village with the purpose of looking for Gan during the daytime.
At 7 am on Wednesday，Ni took two bottles of milk and some candies before setting out from the relative's home.After walking for more than two hours，he heard somebody yelling for help on a mountain slope and found Gan lying in the forests.
Gan's clothes were torn and he had injuries on his legs.Ni immediately called the local government and took out a bottle of milk for Gan to drink it slowly.His mental state was good，but he was extremely weak and needed to rest. "He cried heartedly and said he was lucky to have met me，" Ni said.Gan had survived by eating wild fruits and drinking spring water.
Gan was on duty with his co-worker Luo Yong on September 5 when the quake hit，and the pair stayed behind to give first aid to injured colleagues and prevent flooding by releasing water from the dam.They attempted to leave the remote power station，walking for around 20 kilometers.But Gan，who is severely short-sighted，had lost his glasses during the quake and struggled to navigate the mountainous terrain （地形）.What's worse，the communications were interrupted.
Later the two agreed to let Gan stay in place，while Luo turned to the outside world for help.Luo made Gan a bed of bamboo leaves and left him some wild fruits before they separated.Luckily，Luo was rescued on the afternoon of September 8.
