  • 2.To me inspirations(靈感) mean to put my thoughts,heart,and creations into my jewelry.Sometimes I become so inspired with what I'm working on,that I can finish one or more sets in less than an hour.Because of that feeling,I have named my jewelry collection Inspirations.
        I am a 17-year old senior with Sickle Cell Anemia.With this,I am in and out of the hospital a lot.So I started making jewelry a year ago when I was in the hospital.I really needed something to do,so I was introduced to jewelry making by a child life specialist(專家).
        One day while lying in my hospital bed,I decided to get up and go to the patient's playroom,and look through the craft designs.That was when I became inspired to design my jewelry collection,and named it Inspirations.
        When I'm not sick,I try to keep a positive attitude through reading,school work,and craft activities.
        Even though it's a lot of work,I try to stay focused at all times.When I need a break or just to be free I turn to my craft activities.This is a way to ease my mind and it always helps me to especially get through those stressful times.
        I am getting very excited about graduating next year and preparing myself for college.Who knows my collection of Inspirations would take me to places I've always dreamed of?I may see celebrities I admire and even sell them some of my beautiful Inspirations.
        If they wear my Inspirations,they will become well known and more demanding.
        What a great way to make some extra money for college!

  • 9.The year I turned 30,my friend Erin and I decided to hike part of Newfoundland's East Coast Trail—215 kilometres between Cappahayden and St.John's where the wild scenery was very charming!The path there would bring us great fun.
        Neither of us had gone on a hiking trip longer than five days and now we were in for 14,but we were excited.Nature!Strength!Character!Our hike would end up giving me all of those things in cruel abundance,but there was one take-home I didn't expected:proof of the astonishing kindness of strangers.
        As a shy woman schooled in the risk of stranger danger,I'm not one to open up to people I don't know.In Toronto I don't even chat with my seatmate on the subway or in a grocery line,and I certainly don't ask for help unless I'm desperate.But on this hike I had to learn new ways to cope.
        Over our first two days we covered less than 30 kilometres,most of it in the rain.What had been a gentle mist when we started evolved into a downpour by the second day.Nothing dried overnight,everything was wet.The roads were rugged,with muddy patches so deep that stepping in the wrong place meant mud to mid-calf—which is to say over and into your boots.We squelched(發(fā)出嘎吱聲)with every step.
        All that was very awful for me.On our second day,as we were still on a road looking like cats left in the rain,a woman and her parents making their way from car to house caught sight of us and took pity. "Would you like to come in for a cup of tea?" Jenny asked.
        "Thank you!"
    注意:
    (1)續(xù)寫詞數(shù)應(yīng)為150左右;
    (2)請按如下格式在答題卡的相應(yīng)位置作答。
        We hurried to their lovely home._____
           ?We'd encounter more kindness on the trip._____
