29.I grew up in a small, remote village in the eastern part of Zimbabwe. My world was very small and I only knew a few professions and as I started my first grade in primary school, the only profession that I knew was teaching. Therefore, at that time, being a teacher was my ambition. A few years later, a young man from my village became a medical doctor. I admired his lifestyle. I was therefore inspired by his achievements, and he became my role model. This is the reason why when I started high school, all I wanted to do was be a medical doctor. I hoped to take mostly science subjects in high school and then proceed to university to study medicine. However, things didn't go the way I expected. I could not take science subjects because they were not offered at my high school. At first I was very disappointed and depressed. I thought that my dreams had been shattered once again, but a little while later, I realized that this was a blessing: I had been given a chance to explore my options a little bit further than that. As I completed high school and was preparing to go to college, my greatest attention was focused on accounting. Naturally, the subject becomes my best subject now at college. Now I am an accounting major but I wish to declare finance a major as well. I value the importance of business in society very much. I want to be a financial advisor in the future. To make my dream come true, now I am studying hard to gain more knowledge about finance. While I wish to achieve this, I agree that there is room for me to explore other opportunities, too.Our ambitions always change with new circumstances, new environments and as we get to know how big the world really is.
