It's raining today!You might not think this is big news，but for us it is.It has been very hot and dry since the last time I wrote to you.In fact，it hasn't rained for about ten weeks.
I heard on the radio that it was the driest winter in my city ever since they started keeping records of rainfall （降雨量） in 1887.Everything is very dry.In the city，people have let their lawns （草地） die，and the ground is dry.In the countryside，the farmers can't grow any plants，and their animals are dying.The farmers have to buy grass for their animals to eat because they haven't been able to grow any jye.aimselves.The government is helping them by providing low-interest loans （低息貸款）.
