第一部分 閱讀理解(共兩節(jié))第一節(jié)(滿分30分)閱讀下列短文,從每題所給的四個(gè)選項(xiàng)(A、B、C和D)中,選出最佳選項(xiàng).

  • 1.I have two friends who were poor and needed my help. The first friend was in his final year in University while I was in my third year.He needed some money for school fees, and he came to me.As a student,I didn't have much, but I gave him what he needed on the agreement that he would pay back.I didn't trouble him after that.
Later on,after school,he got into another period of deep financial stress and called me on the phone to borrow some more, promising that he'd pay all of it back once he lands a job.Out of kindness,I still gave him what he needed. He was so grateful. It's so hard to find someone willing to lend money, even with interest.I never troubled him after that.
Fast forward a few months later. One evening,I was feeling happy. My heart was full of love.I felt like having a special act of kindness. And then I thought,"Why not give up my friend's money?Things are so difficult for him."So I called him, saying I didn't need his money. He was shocked! He couldn't believe it.He was so happy and later sent me a message of heartfelt gratitude.
Another time,a second friend had no money to pay the rented house. The owner was going to throw his things out from the house the next day.And he only had an uncle who was sometimes helping him.His uncle had promised to send the money in three months. My friend called me and told me his trouble. It happened that the day before my father had given me some money for my monthly use.Knowing somehow that my friend needed that money more than I did,I gave it all to him for free.
In life,it's the small but powerful actions of love that matter. When life is over, that's what counts. We're love.Love unites us.Love is the key.

  • 菁優(yōu)網(wǎng)3.Do you know what to do if you see a bird with a broken wing in your backyard,or an injured bear by the side of the road?Use your phone!
It's never a good idea to touch a wild animal or to try to help one without professional guidance. The animal might be dangerous to you,and you could cause further injury without meaning to.That's why the wildlife rescue organization Animal Watch has created a new mobile app.The app helps users find the right solutions for animals that need urgent care.
AnimalHelpNow uses your phone's GPS to find where the animal is located. Then the app asks questions about the animal:Is it wild or domestic (raised by humans)? Is it a pet or a farm animal?Could the animal put humans in danger?
Based on the information from the app,AnimalHelpNow will suggest a care provider that's right for your situation.
For wild animals, the app might suggest a nearby rescue facility that specializes in wounded wildlife.Or it might point you to registered caretakers who rehabilitate,or nurse back to health, animals that have been hurt in the wild. For pets or farm animals, the app lists the nearest veterinarians who care for the type of animal that has been injured.
"The app is designed to work even when you don't have Internet access,"Animal Watch director Dave Crawford tells National Public Radio."So whether you're driving through a remote area on the eastern plains, hiking a trail in Rocky Mountain National Park,or simply passing through a dead zone on your way to work, you'll still be able to immediately find the help you need."
For now,AnimalHelpNow works only in Colorado, where Animal Watch is based. But the organization hopes to include information for users across the country.

(1)What is the author's main purpose in writing the passage?

A.To call on people to protect the wild animals.
B.To introduce an app for helping injured animals.
C.To guide the readers to use the phones properly.
D.To give advice on how to save the injured animals.
(2)Why did the wildliferescue organization Animal Watch invent a new mobile?

A.Because people without mobiles don't know how to save the injured.
B.Because rescuing without professional guidance may do harm to both.
C.Because phones pay a more and more important part in people's life.
D.Because people can find any information to save the injured animals.
(3)The following information we can get from the new app EXCEPT
