On Wednesday,March 23,2022,three astronauts at the CSS gave their second space lesson to the students on Earth. The astronauts did some amazing experiments in microgravity(微重力).They were experiments that demonstrated the crystallization process, surface tension, separating water and oil,and momentum in space. The astronauts also used popular Winter Olympics 2022 mascot figurine Bing Dwen Dwen to demonstrate (證明) how an object would move in a weightless environment.
For the lesson, there were three classrooms in Beijing, the Tibet Autonomous Region and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region where the students could communicate with astronauts in real time.Millions of primary and middle school students across China watched the space lesson, which made them take pride in the rapid development of our country's space technology.
Shi Yi,a physics teacher at the Beijing No.101 Middle School, said, "The space lesson is an eye-opening experience that can develop students' interest in science." Wang Yihan,a fifth-grade student at the Yuxin School in Beijing, said, "The astronauts' experiments have really made me surprised.I am really interested in spaceflights (太空飛行).I want to be an astronaut in the future."

  • 3.In July last year,China introduced the "double reduction" policy (政策).It aims to reduce the burdens (負(fù)擔(dān)) of too much homework and after-school training for primary and middle school students.
The policy lists requirements such as reducing the amount and difficulty of homework,as well as improving the quality (質(zhì)量) of education and after-school services. For example, homework for middle school students should take no longer than 90 minutes to finish. It allows students more free time to take up their hobbies and interests.Also,after-school training has been further asked to reduce the burden on students.
How do students and parents feel about this new policy?
"Our homework is clearly less than before," said 13-year-old Shen Yuzhe from Beijing. "I have joined a group. The exercises are mainly from the textbook." According to Shen, teachers now teach at a much slower speed. "Our teachers are also giving us more chances to do experiments and learn from real life," said Shen. "For example,we went to research ants in a field during a biology class. Some students now spend more time having fun when homework is finished early." Shen also pointed out that when the burden is reduced, self-discipline becomes the key. "Exams push me to study better. But if you use all the free time to relax, you might fall behind your classmates," he said.
For 13-year-old Zhang Hangming from Tianjin, the best thing about "double reduction" is the much more time in after-school activities. "We can now take part in more activities. We are not encouraged to buy workbooks anymore.I can learn all kinds of skills out of class," said Zhang.
"With homework done at school,my child and I can read books and listen to music together in the evening,or we can play soccer and do more outdoor exercise," said Lu Di,the parent of a fifth-grader in Qiqihar,Heilongjiang.

(1)What is the aim of the "double reduction" policy?

A.To offer teachers more time to study.
B.To reduce too much burdens on students.
C.To cut down all the after-school activities.
D.To allow schools to keep students much longer.
(2)What are the advantages of "double reduction" policy for the students?

①They have less homework to do.
②They can get higher points than before.
③They can follow the teachers more easily.
④They spend more time on after-school activities.
⑤They have more chances to learn things from real life.
    A.①②③④
    B.①②④⑤
    C.①②③⑤
    D.①③④⑤
(3)Why does Shen point out "self-discipline becomes the key"?

A.Shen wants to advise students to spend free time correctly.
B.Shen wants to express how happy he feels about the new policy.
C.Shen wants to encourage students to relax themselves in their free time.
D.Shen wants to discuss how to solve the problems the new policy brings.
(4)What does Lu Di think of the policy?

    A.Lu Di supports the policy.
    B.Lu Di doubts the policy.
C.Lu Di is against the policy.
D.Lu Di is unsure of the policy.

  • 8.The United Nations awarded its highest environmental honors to an environmental project in China,to Shanghai-based Mobike, the world's largest bike-sharing company, and to the chairman of China's largest private green industries enterprise among the six winners of the Champions of the Earth.China's Saihanba Afforestation Community won the honor.
Saihanba which covers 92,000 hectares(公頃) is a vast forest lying in Chengde,Hebei. In Mongolian, its name means "beautiful highland" and rightly so:across the area, endless forests and grasslands are around the clear lakes.
Around the 10th century,Saihanba became a royal(皇家的) hunting ground.During the Qing Dynasty,Emperor Kangxi liked Saihanba so much that he made hunting there a royal ceremony. In 1860,the land was opened to the public. In the following years, logging and wildfires destroyed the forest and grassland.By the 1950s,Saihanba had become a poor land, allowing sand to blow into Beijing from the northern deserts.
Efforts to recreate a national forest in Saihanba started in the 1960s.In 1961,a group of six scientists traveled through Saihanba and studied how to grow trees there. They finally found one tree standing alone in the huge land, which greatly encouraged them.If one tree could grow there,so could millions of others. In 1962,hundreds of foresters began planting trees in the area.Three generations of these foresters have increased forest cover from 11 percent to 80 percent.
About 56 years later, after overcoming the countless difficulties of planting trees in a very cold place, the poor land is now a huge forest. The forest now supplies 137 million cubic meters(立方米) of clean water each year, while discharging(釋放) 550,000 metric tons of oxygen.Chinese people have created a true wonder in Saihanba over the past half century.

(1)How many winners of the Champions of the Earth come from China?

(2)Why is Saihanba called a "beautiful highland"?

(3)What made Saihanba a poor land by the 1950s?

(4)Who made Saihanba's forest coverage rate reach 80 percent?

(5)What can Saihanba's forest now supply according to the passage?
