?Some years ago，I was extremely sick and hospitalized for weeks.A stubborn infection in my stomach seemed resistant to all antibiotics，and the next step was to remove a huge portion of it and install an ostomy bag（造瘺袋）.
?Day after day，I was terrified when the doctors would come into my room because they always brought bad news.It seemed like they did not know what to do to help me.
?As a cyclist，I used to be strong and healthy，and the idea of having my body altered scared me.I had already been in the hospital so long that I became deeply discouraged.One of my doctors had told me I would probably be unable to continue cycling unless I could learn to do it with the ostomy bag.It seemed like life as I had known it was over.
?That afternoon1，I had an emotional breakdown in the shower as the water washed over a body that I no longer recognized.It was a moment of profound despair，and I wondered if I would ever get well.
?Later that day，while I was lying in my bed，a man with smooth，beautiful skin who was wearing a cool Indiana Jones-type hat came into my room with a Tupperware container filled with cookies of all kinds.By then，I was used to a number of people showing up in my room for a variety of reasons，so I assumed he was a volunteer stopping by to drop off some snacks.
