Reviews
Chris_C,Oct.2020
We travelled with a six-year-old child and the tour guide was able to span (持續(xù)) both adult and kiddo attention spans. He was super patient with us,telling us a small history lesson of the masks.
Amanda_R,Jul.2020
The tour guide Giorgio was amazing with our two girls. They had a great time selecting the style of mask, designing and painting the masks.Giorgio was very patient and did a beautiful job of decorating the masks. There was air conditioning in the tiny workshop too.I sat at the restaurant outside the door and read and had a glass of wine while waiting.

2.Standing in my office 25 years ago was an unknown, newly rising astronomer with a half-smile on her face. She had come with a demand that my team change our tested software to make one of our most important and in-demand scientific instruments do something it had never been designed for,and risk breaking it down. All to carry out an experiment that was basically a waste of time and couldn't be done-to prove that a massive black hole hid at the center of our Milky Way.
My initial "no way" gradually gave way in the face of her cheerful but firm determination. It was my first encounter with a force of nature,Andrea Ghez, one of three winners of this year's Nobel Prize in Physics. That determination and the willingness to take calculated risks has always characterized Andrea. For 25 years she has focused almost only on Sagittarius A-the name of our own local super massive black hole. And Andrea is one of the great pioneers in this search without question.
Andrea did her work at the W.M.Keck Observatory's twin telescopes on Maunakea,Hawai'i.She started using the very first instrument licensed on Keck Observatory's Near Infrared Camera(NIRC).NIRC was never designed to do what Andrea needed but she was not to be denied. And it worked! It was extremely hard and time-consuming to make sense of the data, but Andrea persisted.
As Andrea would be the very first to acknowledge, this triumph(勝利) represents the combined efforts of so many. But actually, one person had the idea for the research. One person had the chutzpah(無所顧忌) to propose it and one person had the determination and focus to make it happen, undiscouraged by all who said it was a waste of time. That person is Andrea Ghez, winner of the 2020 Nobel Prize in Physics.

(2)What do we know about Andrea Ghez's research from Paragraph 2?
A.It takes decades of efforts.
B.It deals with power of nature.
C.It's a purely individual project.
D.It's about measurement of a hole.
(3)Which of the following best describes Andrea Ghez's work in Hawai'i?
A.Dangerous.
B.Pleasant.
C.Challenging.
D.Fruitless.
(4)What can we learn from Andrea Ghez's success?
A.It is rewarding to cooperate.
B.The old methods still work today.
C.It pays to put theory into practice.
D.Persistence leads to success.組卷:7引用:4難度:0.7 -
3.La Belle Personne is boring, but I love it.The 2008 French film features extremely softened and washed-out colors,a relatively uneventful plotline, and lifeless performances from the main characters, all of which give the film its unique charm.
The plain beauty of La Belle Personne comes not from its extremely unique plot, but rather its literary elements.Of course, the film is visually pretty lacking in liveliness. An editor must have purposely and smartly dealt with every single shot. The dominating colors in each of these shots are a vivid black, grey and white, making for a melancholic (憂郁的) atmosphere. While one could easily view this lack of vividness as exhausting,I would argue that it makes for a beautifully unconventional cinematic experience.
There are no artificial mental spark stimulated by the visuals, and the viewers must therefore sit with themselves for an hour and a half, reflecting on what the piece personally means to them and how it genuinely makes them feel.Aside from a few major plot points, nothing terribly remarkable happens in La Belle Personne. It's more like a lazy river under grey skies where the water is slightly too cold. But if you relax, your body temperature adjusts and you can sit back and just enjoy the ride.
Although our current world may be both literally and symbolically on fire,it's no secret that campus life in and of itself is considerably more boring than usual. With no parties to attend, most classes online, and the majority of clubs limited to Zoom Meetings, waking up every day might feel a bit more tedious. However, just like La Belle Personne has shown us,it's important to appreciate your environment for what it is.In terms of campus life, sometimes it's not so horrible for things to be slow-paced,as it allows space for reflection and being present.
(1)What do we know about La Belle Personne from the first paragraph?
A.It enjoys high popularity.
B.It owns special artistic charm.
C.It applies modern techniques.
D.It features lively performances.
(2)What can we infer from Paragraphs 2 and 3 about the film?
A.All its viewers feel positive on it.
B.It gives viewers a sense of ridiculousness.
C.It suits those preferring sensory stimulation.
D.It is worth tasting slowly and heart-wholly.
(3)What does underlined word "tedious" in the last paragraph probably mean?
A.Boring.
B.Painstaking.
C.Impractical.
D.Unnecessary.
(4)What is the purpose of this text?
A.To show the importance of going to the movies.
B.To recommend people to enjoy an unique movie.
C.To introduce a way to appreciate a certain movie.
D.To call for a slow-paced and positive school life.組卷:8引用:4難度:0.7

Maria was practicing with her soccer mates in a tiny school yard. They were all from River Edge Rockers,a soccer team of their community.Suddenly, the ball flew into a deep hole at the edge of the yard.It was the third time that they had lost their ball this month.Without the ball Maria had to wave goodbye to her mates and went home, depressed. "If only there were a regulation soccer field!" she thought.
That evening, seeing her in low spirits, her father asked, "What was the matter, dear?"
"I was just thinking about playing in a brand new soccer field!" Maria answered.
Her father smiled and said, "Tomorrow,a Town Council meeting is to be held to discuss about the use of that vacant lot next to the pet store,Home for Pets. Why not take this opportunity to convince them we need a better field?"
The next day, with the company of her father,Maria and her teammates went to the meeting hall.On their arrival they saw Councilwoman Jill and some citizens already there. They took their seats. After Jill announced the start of the discussion,Maria stood up and spoke first. "Up till now there is no soccer field in our community, which certainly affects our physical health. Our team currently have to practice in a tiny school yard, and only when it's not already booked."
Mrs.Lorries, owner of the pet store, commented, "I couldn't agree more.Kids do need such a field." The Rockers applauded excitedly and the other citizens all agreed it would be a way out.
"A soccer field would be a good use for that lot with overgrown weeds and some large rocks, but to build such one would need a small sum of money and maybe you even need to do all the work on your own." Councilwoman Jill smiled, "Can you manage it?"
Thinking for a while,Maria nodded with a determined look on her face, "The Rockers can do it!We will turn it into a soccer field." The teammates all cheered.
